BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (2/24/26) – Senior
Colby Eddowes and junior
Kamil Przybyla earned individual conference titles to highlight Arkansas State track and field's final day of action at the Sun Belt Indoor Track & Field Championships inside the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Eddowes posted four first-place finishes and totaled 5,671 points in the men's heptathlon to claim his third consecutive individual conference title in the event. Eddowes' victory, along with
Miranda Burgett's in the women's pentathlon on Feb. 23, marks the first time A-State has swept the heptathlon and pentathlon at the conference indoor championships since
Matt Vining and Amy Fleddermann won in 2007.
Freshman
Kercher Herring recorded a sixth-place finish in the heptathlon and jumped to fifth in the Red Wolves' indoor record book for the event with a total of 5,267 points.
Kamil Przybyla captured gold at the conference championships for the first time in his career, posting a time of 1:52.64 in the 800 meters.
Brandon Williams and
Brett Jacobs joined the sophomore on the podium, with the former clocking in at 1:52.66 while the latter crossed the finish line with a time of 1:53.42.
Menachem Chen placed second in the men's shot put with a distance of 18.20m (59-8.50), claiming silver and moving to fourth in A-State's indoor history for the event.
Mia Conroy recorded a podium finish in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:15.01, taking bronze.
