JONESBORO, Ark. (2/28/26) – Sophomore distance runner
Kamil Przybyla was named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Elite Award winner while 10 Red Wolves earned all-conference recognition, the league announced Saturday.
Przybyla is the first A-State athlete to earn the SBC Elite Award, which recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the Sun Belt Conference Championship level in his or her sport while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating on the final day for each of the Sun Belt Conference's championships.
The Wodzislaw Slaski, Poland, native also earned All-Sun Belt First Team honors alongside multi-event athletes
Colby Eddowes and
Miranda Burgett. Przybyla finished first in the men's 800 meters while Eddowes and Burgett swept the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon.
Menachem Chen claimed silver in the men's shot put while the team of
Aviel Gasko,
Bruce Payerli,
Brandon Williams and
Parker Noffz recorded a second-place finish in the men's distance medley relay. All five Red Wolves earned All-Sun Belt Second Team recognition.
Gavin Schaer earned bronze in the men's pole vault while
Brett Jacobs and
Mia Conroy placed third in the 800 meters, receiving All-Sun Belt Third Team distinctions as a result.
