A-State Opens February at Fairgrounds Invitational

JONESBORO, Ark. (2/5/26) – Arkansas State track and field begins competition at the Fairgrounds Invitational in Indianapolis on Friday, Feb. 6, inside the Fall Creek Pavilion.
 
The Red Wolves are scheduled to compete in 28 events over two days, beginning with the women's weight throw at 1 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO NOTE:
FAIRGROUNDS INVITATIONAL
Arkansas State travels to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the Fairgrounds Invitational on Feb. 6-7. It will be the first meet of February for the Red Wolves, who enter the fifth weekend of the indoor campaign. After this weekend, A-State has three meets remaining before the Sun Belt Indoor Championships begin in Birmingham, Alabama.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Ben Carlile and Chris Boyd claimed event titles in the men's pole vault (B Division) and the men's shot put at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Lousiville. Carlile tied for first place in the pole vault with a height of 4.97m (16-3.50) to earn his first event title as a Red Wolf. Boyd bested 44 contestants in the shot put with a distance of 17.32m (56-10.00) to claim his third career event title. A-State recorded 17 top 10 finishes over the weekend and 13 personal bests were established across nine events.
 
INTO THE RECORD BOOK
Four individuals and two 4x400 relay teams established new personal bests on Jan. 30-31 at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational. Jada Buggs (W 400m), Mia Conroy (W 800m), Kamil Przybyla (M 800m), and Parker Noffz (M Mile) moved into the Red Wolves indoor top 10 for their individual events. Two teams in the men's and women's 4x400 relays established new top 10 times over the weekend as well. The women's team (Kneila Watson, Syriah Boyd, Je'Breiya Chapman, Jada Buggs) clocked in at 3:50.24 while the men's team (Bruce Payerli, Mehki Hoo, Sheldon Richardson, Spencer Taylor) posted a time of 3:15.43. Both marks are the sixth fastest in A-State indoor history for the event.
