JONESBORO, Ark. (3/2/26) – Arkansas State filled up the Sun Belt Conference postseason awards, Mimi McCollister winning the program's first Sixth Woman of the Year Award, and Zyion Shannon and Crislyn Rose named to All-Conference teams.
Mimi McCollister came off the bench in all 29 games she played in, averaging 19.0 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage at 36 percent. McCollister led the bench with 7.8 points per game, playing point guard for the crew with the fifth-most bench points in the nation, accounting for nearly 40 percent of the Red Wolves points per game. McCollister averaged 3.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.9 steals per game, setting the season-best number at six against Louisiana (1/15/26).
Zyion Shannon was named First Team All-Sun Belt and Sun Belt All-Defense as she led the Red Wolves in multiple categories. Leading the Red Wolves in scoring with 13.2 ppg, Shannon sits fourth in the conference in steals (2.4) and top-35 nationally on an A-State team that sits top-5 nationally in steals, and number one in the country in turnovers forced (817). Shannon finished the season hitting 1.6 threes a game, and pulling in 3.9 rebounds per game. Shannon, the steady hand, also lands fifth in the conference at the free throw line, with 81 percent accuracy. A historic defense, the Red Wolves shattered program records in turnovers forced in a season (843) and steals (468) in a season, while also breaking the Sun Belt record for most steals in a season (prev. MTSU 2006-07, 465).
Rose, the primary ball handler for the Red Wolves was named Second Team All-Sun Belt, averaging 11.8 points per game and 4.2 assists per game (3rd SBC, top-60 nationally), with a 1.6 assist/turnover ratio (3rd SBC), while averaging more points and rebounds than either player ahead of her in those stats. Rose hit the 20-point benchmark six times this season, while dishing out 6+ assists nine separate times.
