Kniazev Shines in Men’s Hammer Throw as A-State Opens Competition at Alumni Bulldog Relays and WashU Invite

ST. LOUIS, Mo./STARKVILLE, Miss. (3/26/26) – Freshman Arkansas State track and field thrower Egor Kniazev entered the program record book as A-State opened action at the Alumni Bulldog Relays and WashU Invite on Thursday.
 
The Haddasah Neurim Youth Village, Israel, native recorded a distance of 61.09m (200-5.00) in the men's hammer throw and finished third among 23 contestants. Kniazev now stands at sixth place in the Red Wolves' history for the event, surpassing Richard Chavez's 60.73m (199-3.00) mark in 2015.
 
Jared Moore recorded a 54.13m (177-7.00) throw in the event while Annika Wilbanks registered a distance of 47.37m (155-5.00) on the women's side as both athletes recorded 11th-place finishes.
 
In St. Louis, Evan Stevens and Erika Krueger were the Scarlet and Black's top finishers in the men's and women's 3000-meter steeplechase. The former clocked in at 9:25.95 while the latter crossed the finish line at the 11:06.58 mark en route to 14th-place finishes.
