Biography
2007-08: Played in all 30 games, including 22 as a starter . . . Ranked 13th in the Sun Belt Conference in assists . . . 2.6 assist/turnover ratio would have been the best in the Sun Belt Conference and ranked tied for 16th best in the nation, but 2.6 assists per game narrowly missed minimum average of 3.0 to qualify . . . Led the team in assists with 79 . . . Recorded a career-high seven assists against MacMurry on Dec. 30, but posted at least five assists in five games . . . Led ASU in assists a team-high 12 games . . . Scored in double figures twice, including a career-high 14 points at New Orleans on Dec. 22 . . . Posted 10 points in a victory at Louisiana-Monroe on Jan. 12 . . . Finished the season with 16 steals, including a career-high four against MacMurry . . . Led ASU in steals three games.
Tyler (TX) JC: Led the Apaches to an 18-12 overall record and the Region XIV Tournament Quarterfinals in 2006-07, one year after he helped Tyler JC to a 17-14 record and the region tournament semifinals. The Tyler, Texas, native averaged eight points, 6.9 assists and four rebounds to earn Honorable Mention All-Region XIV honors as a sophomore . . . Tyler JC head coach Mike Marquis, who has coached 76 players that have signed Division I scholarships and two NBA draft picks, notes that Koggu is without a doubt the most unselfish player that he has ever coached. All five sophomores on the Tyler JC team are signed Division I scholarships in 2007 . . . Averaged 6.3 points on a .550 shooting percentage as a freshman and also pulled down 2.5 rebounds per game . . . While a freshman at Tyler JC, Koggu got experience playing against two starting guards on Sun Belt Conference teams in North Texas’ Ben Bell (San Jacinto College) and New Orleans’ Shaun Reynolds (Navarro College). Mullen’s Round Ball Review, widely considered one of the best basketball recruiting publications, described Koggu as a player who can really push it, explodes to the rim, defends, is very quick with the ball and gets to the rim and free throw line.
High School: While at Robert E. Lee High School, Koggu was named First Team All-East Texas, was an All-Region selection and also named the District Defensive Player of the Year.
