FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
- Saturday's meet marks the first for Arkansas State in Fayetteville since Sharika Nelvis competed in the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships held at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
- All-American Camryn Newton-Smith moved up to third in program history in the indoor long jump (6.08m – 19-11.5) and in the 55m hurdles (7.98) in her season opener at the Kickoff Klassic on Dec. 13. She will be competing in the 60m hurdles for the first time this season after winning the Sun Belt title in that event last season.
- In the men's weight throw, Eron Carter (19.80m – 64-11.0) and Aimar Palma Simo (19.33m – 63-5.0) moved up in the A-State record books, at third and sixth all-time.
- Three A-State men's distance runners posted personal best times in the men's 3000m that rank among the top six in indoor program history – Lexington Hilton (8:27.59), Seth Waters (8:27.64) and Gregoire Saury (8:28.86)..
- On the men's side, A-State returns 20 scorers – 12 medalists – from last season's conference title. For the women, A-State brings back 17 individual scorers – eight medalists from last season's conference championship meet.
