Anderson's impact on the ASU volleyball team was almost immediate. During her first season in 1988 she helped lead the team to a 41-1 overall record and a 10-0 record in the American South Conference. In 1989 the team finished with a 43-6 record, a perfect mark in the ASC and earned a berth in the Women's Invitational Volleyball Championships for the first team in school history.
Anderson never lost an American South Conference match during her two-year career and was named the American South Conference Player of the year in 1989, In the 1989 season she finished with 566 kills, the fourth most all-time at ASU. In 1988 she finished with 509 kills, which is ninth most all-time and 187 blocks that are the ninth most in a single season. She finished with a .294 hitting percentage, which also ranks as the ninth best for a career. Anderson was also a member of the ASU tennis team in the 1989 and 1990 seasons.
