Margie Kolat McGee was a member of the Lady Indian volleyball team from 1991-94. During her tenure, ASU posted records of 41-9, 41-6, 32-13 and 26-7, won four consecutive conference championships, made two trips to the NCAA Tournament and two trips to the National Invitation Volleyball Championship.

Playing as an outside hitter and passer for ASU, she ended her career in the top of nearly every all-time list. At one time she held the school records for most digs in a career (2,219), digs in a season (748 in 1993), and career kills (1,789). She finished second in career service aces with 221. Her 2,219 digs ranked second nationally and she posted 45 digs in a match, ranking among the best all-time in NCAA history. McGee was a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection and the 1994 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year.
